Jane Routh has published three full collections of poetry with Smith|Doorstop. Her first, Circumnavigation, won the Poetry Business Competition and was shortlisted for a Forward Prize for best first collection; Teach Yourself Mapmaking was a Poetry Book Society recommendation. She took first prize in the 2009 Academi Cardiff International Poetry Competition (with the title poem of her collection The Gift of Boats) and in the 2011 Strokestown International Poetry Competition. She has published a number of pamphlets, most recently The White Silence. She contributes reviews and non-fiction to several publications. Her 2014 publication, Falling into Place, celebrates work, wildlife and weather in north west England, where she’s lived for forty years – looking after an Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland, planting new woodlands and keeping geese for the last twenty. She is also a photographer and former photography lecturer.
