Issue 1: A few final thoughts
The first issue of The Compass is now complete. We do hope you’ve enjoyed the last twelve days, and that you’ll browse the full issue. We also look forward to hearing your thoughts. If there is anything you would like to see in a quality online poetry magazine, or if you have thoughts you’d like to share about poetry in general, do let us know. A selection of letters will appear on our Letters page in a future issue.
We also need your best poems! We’re proud of the quality and diversity of the poetry in this issue and we’ll strive to maintain this standard so we do want your work. Please see our Submissions page for guidelines. The closing date for Issue 2 is August 30th and the issue will appear at the end of October/beginning of November.
Our newsletter will be very infrequent but will keep you up to date, particularly when Issues are going live. It’s sent once a week, and only if we’ve posted something new, so please do sign up for it if you’ve enjoyed the magazine. You’ll find it on the right of this page and also the homepage.
Deep thanks go to all the poets who appeared in Issue 1, and also to everyone who submitted poems or supported us on social media. We think of The Compass as an event as well as a magazine, and we hope you’ve enjoyed this aspect of it as well as the poetry and reviews. Publishing Issue 1 has been a great pleasure, and your involvement has played a big role in this.
The Compass is already moving towards Issue 2. We look forward to meeting you there in late October/November.
